The ramblings of a poet who would like to someday get off the road & live a normal life again, but for now is stuck in limbo.

Yay, it's Christmas Day
H-m-m-m-m what has happened since the last entry? I completed Pre-Employment Welding from Lethbridge College & I got a haircut. Other than that not a whole lot is going on. When I get some free time I've got to update my website & all the other places on the internet I have a presence in. Not too mention update my resume & start looking for work. In a couple of weeks I should have the test results from the Provincial exam for 1st period welding. I did okay on most of the welds but did terribly on the oxyacetylene cutting part of it. To make matters even worse was some dude bumped the table twice while I was cutting. Anyways I guess that is it for now. Maybe in the next post I will write a poem or do some other form of art.

Task force Arrowhead
Wow, Canada is creating a new quick reaction force called Task Force Arrowhead. If I was younger than I am now & still in shape I'd do whatever I could do to possibly get into it (or CSOR). I have been a fan of special operations for quite awhile now & have researched different units from various countries as much as I can. I just find it fascinating what you can train a person to do. Anyhow I guess I'll quit here before some starts jumping all over me about this or that. It's gets really funny how things can spiral out of control so quickly.

Nothing new
Not a whole lot is going on now. Anyhow I was at West Edmonton Mall on this past Wednesday & I went to the shooting range. This is the result of my handywork with a 9mm Berreta Storm & a 10 round clip. I had 50 bullets. Oh yeah almost forgot the sight was a red dot sight. What else, not to bad for a guy who wasn't wearing his glasses, had his safety glasses fogging up, & has only touched firearms about 20 times in his life.
So the question is where did I learn to shoot kinda' good. I played all the Hitman games, a lot of TFD, BHD, & JO, plus numerous of other shooters. Anyways that's about all, I gotta' roll, dinner is ready.

I'm back
I got my old website back finally. It won't be as crazy as the last one. Anyhow to make things short & sweet I'll just say click on the link to the left & enjoy. If for some odd reason you can't find it simply click on this http://www.jeffwgodin.com I will still keep updating this on a monthly basis just so I don't lose the few readers that there are still here, or where ever you are.

No New Songs
No new songs
Haven't touched my guitars in months
They sit there silent
Collecting dust
Waiting for me to play them
& go back out onto whatever stage
Will let me on
Sometimes late at night
I'll play an old CD
Remember my golden day & nights
At various bars & pubs
Remember the friends I made
& the music we created, loved, shared
Oh how I miss those days
But fear not
Maybe one day I will become a musicain again
A travelling trobadour
Taking my act across the oceans
Into lands I have never been
Lighting fires here & there of inspiration
I remember one day at the Ship & Anchor pub in Calgary
A young woman took to the stage
She was the host of the afternoon jam
& when I approached her to be put on the list
She told me I was the one who inspired her
& set the fire in her
At first I found it odd
Then quite charming
Anyhow
There are no new songs
But perhaps in the future there will be

The Matrix
Here is a piece Aaron Hagan & myself worked on earlier tonight. It's been called "The Matrix" for now. We started at around 6:40pm & finshed a few hours later. This piece along with others will be featured in a show going on here in Lethbridge in March. If you are here you won't want to miss it. The nite will include works by artists & poets or vice versa. I think there are a total of 16 collaborations going on. Anyways this is piece number 1 for us, we talked about doing another one. It will no doubt be just as interesting as this or even better.
